An Experience I Wouldn't Trade for Anything Else!

I was fortunate enough to spend two weeks in Mombasa, Kenya. During my time there, I completed a Pre-Medical Internship through Elective Africa. This experience was such a blessing that I will be forever grateful for it.

I shadowed and observed doctors in several different departments such as Pediatrics, Accident and Emergency, OBGYN and Labor, Surgery, and more. We also took time to volunteer at a local orphanage with incredible children and taught young girls at a school nearby! I cannot even put in words how much this experience means to me and how eye-opening it was. Alongside learning and volunteering, we also explored and were able to see all of the beautiful features of Mombasa, Kenya.

Being submerged into such a beautiful culture, learning Swahili, and making many new friends and memories is something I wouldn't trade for the world. Everyone I met said not to forget about Mombasa, and I don't think I ever could. It will always hold a special place in my heart!
