Elective Africa respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes Elective Africa’s practices and procedures regarding the protection, collection, storage and use of personal information we receive from users of the Elective Africa website. If you voluntarily sign up for a MyElective account and provide Elective Africa with Personal Information, we will store and protect User Data within our database, from your session to make higher quality travel recommendations based on your interests for as long as you are logged in. To delete your MyElective account and all associated data that is personally identifiable, please contact info@electiveafrica.com

 

If you voluntarily provide Personal Information to us through any forms, tools, or services on our Site, your User Data and Personal Information will be collected and stored in our database. To delete the Personal Information you’ve voluntarily shared with us via any form, tool, or service on our Site or withdraw your consent, please contact info@electiveafrica.com

 

We use information we obtain by technical means for the above purposes and:

  • In order to monitor and analyze the aggregate use of the Elective Africa website and our services, 
  • For the Elective Africa website's technical administration,

(i) Inquiry Form & Application Form

If you voluntarily use the Elective Africa Inquiry Form and Application Form, your Personal Information will be collected and stored in our database and reviewed by our Placement Advisors to answer your inquiry and give recommendations accordingly based on your interest.

(ii) Chat Platform

If you voluntarily use our Chat Platform on the website, your personal information will be collected and stored in our database and reviewed by our placement advisors to answer your inquiry.

(iii) MyElective Tool

If you voluntarily create a MyElective Account on our Site, your Personal Information will be collected and stored in our database indefinitely, unless you otherwise communicate to us and request for your personal information to be deleted. 

By checking the Consent Checkbox, you willingly give Elective Africa consent to collect and store your Personal Information and share it with our internal team in order to provide you with more accurate recommendations or improve our services. 

We will not share the Personal Information associated with your

MyElective Account directly to any third parties or outside entities unless you provide us with written consent via email to do. If you wish to delete your MyElective Account from our database or withdraw your consent, please contact info@electiveafrica.com

 

 

4. Sharing the Information and Disclosure

(i) Service Providers, Business Partners, and Others. 

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our service, to provide the service on our behalf, to perform Elective Africa website-related services (including but not limited to data storage, maintenance services, database management, web analytics, payment processing, and improvement of the features of the Elective Africa website) or to assist us in analyzing how the Elective Africa website and service are used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only for purposes of performing these tasks on our behalf.

Upon Sign-Up to our program, your personal information will be shared with your institution of placement to help in securing your slot at the institution. This information will only be used for purposes mentioned above.

Elective Africa co-operates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of Elective Africa or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop any activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, illegal, unethical, inappropriate or legally actionable.

5. Security

Elective Africa is very concerned with safeguarding your information. We employ commercially reasonable measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access.

These measures include policies, procedures, employee training, physical access and technical elements relating to data access controls, and employing hosting services from an industry compliant datacenter provider. Elective Africa also uses a third party (PayPal) service for all credit card transactions.

6. Storage of Personal Data

Elective Africa retains personal information for as long as it is reasonably required for legal or business purposes. In doing so, Elective Africa takes into account all applicable laws, contractual obligations, and your wishes. When Elective Africa no longer needs your personal information, it shall be deleted or destroyed.

9. Our Policy Regarding Children

Out of special concern for children's privacy, Elective Africa does not knowingly accept online personal information from children under the age of 13. Elective Africa does not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to become registered members of the Elective Africa website, or buy products and services on the Elective Africa website. Elective Africa does not intend to provide the Services to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
