This Experience has Definitely been one I won’t Forget

I decided to do Elective Africa after hearing how incredible the experience was for some fellow classmates. I am interested in doing medical missions after graduating and thought this would be a great opportunity to see what that would be like. I honestly wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but this experience has definitely been one I won’t forget. The coordinators were all extremely helpful, going out of the way. It was amazing to ensure we were taken care of each step of the way. It was amazing to see how well doctors utilize the limited resources they have giving the best care they can for their patients. It has definitely been an eye-opening experience. All of the physicians in the internal medicine team were welcoming and allowed us to grow in our education as physician assistant students. I loved getting to explore Arusha and the surrounding areas. Everywhere we went was beautiful and the Tanzanian people were all very friendly. The Safari coordinated by Elective Africa was amazing and is a can’t miss! Overall, my experience with this program was excellent and I would definitely do it again. If you’re contemplating doing it, go for it! You will not regret it!
