Perfect Balance Between Learning Medicine & Understanding Healthcare Systems!

Our time with Elective Africa has been absolutely incredible from the first day. It was the perfect balance between learning medicine, understanding healthcare systems, and an amazing cultural experience. Elective Africa staff med us feel right at home throughout the entire stay while also giving us the freedom to make the trip our own and meet our personal learning goals.

It has been eye-opening and humbling to be amongst such a powerful culture and the difference between both medicine and daily life. All of the Elective Africa staff have provided their own personal stories and insights that helped us to truly see Kenyan culture. The doctors and nurses of Coast General Hospital have all been so welcoming to us as students and know the program by name making it easy to transition from department to department and see as much as we could.

On top of it all, Carol had amazing activities lined up for us including school and orphanage visits, a wildlife park, and good eats. I would recommend EA to any students looking to gain a well-rounded homely and inclusive medical and cultural learning experience. 

We also commend the pre-departure stage which gave us tons of helpful information, tips, organization and always being receptive to questions.
