Elective Africa Provided Exactly What I Was Looking For.

I am a 4th-year medical student from the United States going into surgery after graduation. I really want to get involved in global health in my career as a surgeon, so finding a surgical elective to do during medical school was important to me. When searching for an international surgical elective online I found Elective Africa and it provided exactly what I was looking for. 

I had a great experience during my time in Mombasa at Coast General Hospital. I was able to work closely with surgical residents, observe many operations join the resident on-call in Accidents & Emergency, and learn so much about healthcare in Kenya. I look forward to coming back to Kenya in the future and I am so thankful Elective Africa gave me the opportunity to learn from and form relationships with doctors here in Mombasa.
